In part one of this multi-part series, we talked about a few of the myths that are commonly associated with eyelash extensions. In today’s post, we will go over a few more myths to hopefully give you a better understanding of the eyelash extension process. Myth #4: You have to take breaks between relashing appointments

With some cosmetic treatments, it’s ideal that you take a break between follow-up appointments in order to give your body a break. However, with eyelash extensions, this is not the case. As we mentioned in our previous blog, your eyelashes go through a natural growth cycle that causes them to fall out every three to four weeks. Because your extensions are adhered to your natural lash, you will need to have new extensions applied as your natural lashes fall out, if you want to maintain your thick, long lashes. With that in mind, you do not need to take breaks between relashing appointments in order to let your natural lashes “breathe.” Your natural lashes will fall out anyway, and having extensions glued to them will not affect their growth cycle.

Myth #5: Eyelash extensions inhibit daily activities

Many people are under the impression that once they get eyelash extensions, they won’t be able to do certain daily activities. For the first two to three days after you get your lash extensions, you will have to be careful about what you do. Because your new lashes are attached with an adhesive, it needs time to dry, therefore you won’t be able to go swimming or wash your face. However, this rule only applies for the first couple of days. Once the adhesive has had time to cure, you will be able to go about your day as usual.

Myth #6: Extensions are one-size-fits-all

If you’ve ever bought false eyelashes from the store, then you know that there are only a few options to choose from. Essentially, you can choose between more natural-looking lashes and lashes that are fit for celebrities on the red carpet. Additionally, fake lashes typically come in one size, meaning you have to trim them down if you want them to fit right.
